What is your replacement
policy?
PLEASE don't use alcohol sanitizers.
They cause acrylic balls to break. Having said that, we offer a 9 month
guarantee. If your belly ring cracks, breaks, etc. just mail it back
to us for a replacement. Please contact us first to
make sure we have the item in stock. We may need to substitute a
different item if we don't carry the style you originally bought. See our
our
Info page for our address and Email info.
What about
refunds or exchanges?
If you have do not like the item you
purchased, email us within three days. Then you can send it
back and we will give you a store credit. We ask that you pay
postage back to us, and a $1.50 restocking/remailing fee via PayPal.
Please contact us for RMA info before returning an item.
We never resell exchanged products.
If we accept a return, even if you swear it
hasn't been worn, we still don't resell. And if you think about
it, we're sure you wouldn't want us to!
The ball on my
acrylic belly ring broke. Why did it do that?
Most of the time, if a ball breaks, it is because
it was sanitized with an alcohol sanitizer. Most piercing shops
don't tell their clients about this when they get pierced. To
clean your acrylic belly ring, use a non alcohol sanitizer, or just
antibacterial soap and a good water rinse. Sometimes if you over tighten an
acrylic ball the threads will strip on the ball or the PTFE. Be
sure to tighten the top ball just enough for a good hold.
I moved and forgot to make the changes in
PayPal. What do I do?
We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or mis-delivered
mail. Please make sure your correct up to date address is in
PayPal. If you move, please use the USPS change of address
form in your post office. Unfortunately, we are getting so
many people with outdated or incorrect addresses, that we have had to start
charging a fee. If you are able to get us a
note before we ship, we can usually make the change for you.
(We ship fast, so you need to Email us immediately.) If the package
is already on its way, you may be able to go to your post
office and fill out a change of address form, and keep your package
from returning. If a package is returned to us due to an
incorrect address, we have to pay shipping again to resend it.
Although postage only went up a few cents for an envelope, our cost
to mail out with delivery tracking has more than doubled.
If you choose standard shipping, and your
package is returned, you will be charged $1.50 to resend.
If you choose Priority Mail and a
package is returned, you will be charged a $5.00 service charge to
resend.
What is your policy on lost packages? Two words. PURCHASE INSURANCE !
We use USPS and delivery tracking for US packages. If you live in the US,
and did not receive a delivery tracking number by Email, contact us and we will
give it to you. A few times a month we are contacted by people who's
packages were not delivered. If it has been 10 days (7 days for Priority
mail) and you have not yet received your package, what happens next depends on
two things. What the tracking code says and whether you bought insurance.
Only one out of every 2,000 people think they need insurance. However
almost every week we deal with packages that get lost, stolen, or misdirected.
Right now insurance is optional, but we are strongly considering making it
mandatory. To purchase insurance, look on the left margin toward the
bottom of each order page. Click on the Add Insurance box.
Unfortunately, using the shopping cart at Checkout, we discovered there is no
"optional" insurance, so in order to make this an optional choice, we had to
make it a click to but button.
If the delivery tracking says it has
been delivered, then we go by that. That means that the USPS has confirmed
that they have delivered the package to the address you supplied thru PayPal. Having said that, we do have two considerations. If the
delivery tracking says it is being re-routed back to us because the address you
supplied was wrong, we can reship a
replacement package out to you 1st class for $1.50. If the delivery
tracking shows it is still in transit, we go on a case by case basis on how we
handle that. If insurance is purchased, then we will replace the package
after sufficient time has passed. If you are reading this within 12 hours
of ordering, you can still purchase insurance, EVEN IF YOU HAVE RECEIVED A
CONFIRMATION NUMBER. Just Email us.
Do you take any other payments besides PayPal? Yes, you can order by
Email, and send a money
order. Please note, you do NOT need a
PayPal account to pay with your credit card through our shopping cart.
PayPal is currently the only way we will accept credit cards.
Please address money order to "Jewelry Liquidators" 16409 SE Division
Suite 216 PMB 330 Portland, OR 97236
How long does it
take to ship & when will I receive it? Typically we will send your order within 1-2 business
days, or when your payment clears. If you choose to pay by e-check
it can take several days for payment to clear. For credit card
orders (or orders paid for with your existing PayPal balance) it is not uncommon for orders to go out the same day if they
are paid on a week day morning. :) US Delivery is typically 3 to 7
business days.
International
Shipping
Outside the US, please allow
two to three weeks. New security measures have really slowed down the
postal service for packages going outside the US. Since these
packages must be printed manually, a Paypal shipping receipt is not
issued. We keep computer records of all shipments, however, so
feel free to inquire when your order was shipped.
Why doesn't
the tracking message say its been sent? Tracking is included on packages
mailed inside the US. When you are first sent the notice, it will
say it isn't valid because we just printed it, and the USPS records don't update immediately. On
the next day, and up to the time of delivery it will display a message
like this: "The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified
by the shipper or shipping partner on [date] to expect your package for
mailing." This means we paid for postage and printed the label on that day,
and it has been sent. Once we
create a postage label, it must be mailed the same day, so if you see
this message your package was in fact mailed. Because it is USPS
DELIVERY tracking...not progress tracking, that
message doesn't change again until delivery is made.
When your item
arrives... Please look at the bottom of your
invoice. It contains information about the care of the item(s)
you ordered. For more complete information see our Belly Ring Care section.
I sent a message to
you in Email, and you haven't responded. Why not? We use a spam filter, and certain
things will trigger your message to be caught in that filter. To
make sure we get your message, use our Contact
form, or Email us with the words Maternity
Piercings in the subject line. If you haven't received a
response in 24-48 hours (M-F), we didn't get the message, or it got caught
in your spam filter on the way back to you. We do not often
respond to Emails on weekends. Voicemails are sent to
us as Email attachments. It is easier and quicker for us to
respond via Email, so please leave your Email address.
I was told
that I could just use fishing line or dental floss in my piercing.
Is that true? Fishing line is not
medical grade substance, so you will need to discuss that with your doctor.
Dental floss was not made for piercing applications and is often
coated with substances that will irritate your piercing. But also take into consideration the after effects. Remember that
a belly piercing is a puncture wound, and that kind of piercing will
close up for most people. In as little as a few days time,
you could have a piercing that is 2 full gauges smaller, and you won't
be able to wear your regular 14g belly rings afterwards. It is
always best to use the same size gauge as your piercing.
Do you have a
catalog? Sorry we don't have a catalog. We do a lot of changes
around here and a catalog could be out of date within a few weeks.
Some of the
pictures show the balls or ends and not the bar. Do all of your
items come with the bar? Yes, all are finished belly rings, except for the
replacement steel gem top balls.
Why do some
pictures say "metal free"? Some styles have steel reinforced threading that you can't
see, which means
they are not invisible to X-rays, and the doctor or technician would
need to know this. Most sonogram techs can work around metal
belly rings, so that is rarely a problem.
I would like to have a shorter length
bar. How do I shorten belly rings
and rethread the balls?
See our rethreading page.
Are you
suggesting that pregnant women get pierced? Absolutely not! Any reputable piercing shop won't even allow it.
What our product is for, are women who are already pierced, and
hopefully fully healed. The reason our product exists is that women out
there are still trying to leave in those short rigid steel bars through
their pregnancy. They refuse to give them up because they don't
want the piercing to close up and have to be re-pierced through the scar
tissue. But steel bars are too short to accommodate an expanding
belly, and too rigid to be comfortable. Some people try acrylic
bars which are at least a little flexible, but they aren't as safe, and are still far too short
to do much good. Maternity Piercings belly rings can be cut to fit
whatever size you need, do not cause allergic reactions, and are extremely flexible.
What is PTFE?
PTFE is a non stick material used for surface
piercings, in surgical applications. It is super flexible,
which makes it very
comfortable for not only pregnancy but also sports, and those monthly cramping
times. Just shorted to the length you need. You can see
how flexible it is in the picture below. It is safer, and more flexible and comfortable than
acrylic bars.
Can I change the shape
of the PTFE? The warmth of your body will make the PTFE more
flexible. If you need to give it more curve to insert it, wash your hands
well, and then you can bend it tightly in the direction of the natural curve for best results. Hold
in your hand for at least 30 seconds. It won't break, so you can
wind it as tight as you want. When
you let go it should have more curve than it had before. To straighten,
bend loosely against the curve.
How safe are pregnancy belly
rings? They are as safe as your doctor says they are.
Period. If he/she suggests removing them, then that's
what you need to do. The PTFE material itself is safe, and does not
cause allergic reactions, and is invisible to Xrays. Some women can go right up to and
through labor with their belly ring in.
Infections and Pregnancy
Infections and Belly Rings To the body, belly piercings are wounds. Because of this,
wearing any type of belly ring during pregnancy must be closely watched.
Many women never know it, but they have belly piercings that never quite
heal. If there is any problem with your piercing, consult
your doctor. As the belly expands, the skin stretches and becomes
thinner. That can cause tiny little tears in the scar tissue,
which you can't feel or see. But that can be enough of an
environment to cause an infection, even if you never had one before. It is very important to keep the area
clean, as you would when you first got pierced. Also with
pregnancy jewelry, some women wear the bar much longer than needed so
they have room to grow. This means the bar is exposed to dust,
dander, lint, stretch mark creams, etc. and because there is room
for the bar to slide around, it can carry these contaminants into the
piercing, and into those little tears. We strongly recommend
getting two belly rings, so you have one for now, and one for later.
This way you don't have the bar exposed to contaminants.
Also, if you have a steel belly ring now
and you feel you are getting irritated, our product will not help! If you
sanitize your steel belly ring, and still don't have relief by morning,
see your doctor. If you have any kind of leakage, do not reinsert
any body jewelry. Call your doctor.
If you are using alcohol
sanitizers (again, never on acrylic pieces), make sure they are made for
body jewelry. Do not use "hand sanitizers" or other alcohol based
products that can contain lotions or other ingredients which can cause
irritation or infection.
Do you sell
replacement balls?
Perhaps, although the colors vary from batch to
batch. The replacement balls section will have the items that we
have available as loose items. Broken items, if purchased within the last 9 months,
can be returned for replacement. (Another good reason to have a
spare on hand.)
Do you sell the bars
separately?
No, the bars are not available separately, however
sometimes an extra bar is sold with a particular belly ring as a package.
We do offer very low priced "basic" belly rings available for just that
purpose, and most grab bags will have an extra bar included.
Do you guarantee
lowest prices?
Not necessarily, as some items look very similar
but aren't. For example, if you notice our "teddy bear" sterling
silver styles, you'll see we now have the "tiny" version, and the
regular 3-D version, because our it was confusing for people who saw the
tiny size on other sites. For most items though, we will try to
match competitor's pricing the best we can!
