Regular FlexiBars vs Ultra FlexiBars
Both of these bars are flexible PTFE.
Most places on the internet only use the regular, original PTFE
bars. We have both.
The regular FlexiBars on pregnancy belly rings contain a white pigment, which makes them a
little less flexible. However the acrylic balls thread onto these bars
easier and stay on better. These bars are recommended for
anything with acrylic balls. Standard length on these are 2"
Ultra FlexiBars do not have a white color pigment, which is part of
what keeps them softer and more flexible. They can be harder to
rethread, but can be accomplished with a steel threading ball.
These bars are made by a different manufacturer, and because they are almost 5 times
more expensive for us, the standard length on these
are just over 1". Retainers are 1 1/2". Ultra Flexibars
are standard on most of our dangle belly rings. If you want a longer
Ultra Flexi bar however, they are available in the
Accessories & Parts section.
Bioplast
Bioplast is another great flexible material
for pregnancy belly button rings, but they are made molded to the bar
as one piece, except for the top ball. It is not as flexible
as our Ultra Flexibar, but maybe a little more flexible than our
regular bar. However, if you make a
mistake in cutting, you lose the whole belly ring. The bars are 3/4"
long. In
addition, many are not very flat in back so they stick out more.
Best for early months or after pregnancy.
Steel
316L surgical steel is the mainstay of the
body jewelry world. While we prefer the comfort of the
flexible bars, we do have longer (and shorter)length steel shafts available
in both 14g and 16g, and
would be happy to customize your belly ring with a steel bar if you
so choose. |
