How to Shorten and Rethread Your Pregnancy Belly Ring
__________________________________________________________

Pregnancy belly ring pink pearl (Full length)

Our bars are easily shortened to the length you desire, and most balls will rethread easily.  Acrylic types, like the glitter and marble are sometimes easier if you use a steel ball to set the threads after cutting.  You can use one from our accessories section, or just use the top ball from one of your other steel top belly rings.

If a ball or end slips off easily, then you can assume the threads got stripped somehow.  Do not attempt to rethread the end back onto the stripped threads, because it will most likely fall off again.  You will need to make a fresh angled cut on the bar and rethread the piece back on.

On 16g the threads on these can strip out easier.  They are usually not easy to rethread, but if a new angle is cut it is possible.  It is best to get a 16g steel ball to set the threading.  Easiest 16g styles are the steel threaded options, including the anodized styles.

Bioplast is usually easy to rethread, but it is best to leave it a little long, in case you make a mistake.  Because the bars are attached to the belly ring, there's nothing we can do if you make a mistake.  For the other bars, you can just order a new replacement bar, but this isn't possible with bioplast.

TO RETHREAD

Again, for acrylics, you may need to use a steel ball to set the threads, because our bars are so soft.  Steel balls are available in our accessories section, and we make them available for 1 cent with orders over $9.99. (See Specials)

For dangles - rethread the top end.  Avoid taking off the dangle end off.

Do not attempt to resize your pregnancy belly ring while you are wearing it.

Simply snip to desired length with clean scissors or sharp blade and screw the top ball back on.  It will work best if you cut the bar at an angle, as in the picture below.  Generally the sharper the angle, the better the ball with thread on.  If the point is too sharp after threading, cut the very tip to blunt it.

Cut PTFE at an angle

The ball should thread back on easily.  Don't over tighten.  If it doesn't twist on easily, you probably just need to make a bit sharper angle.   If that doesn't work, then you should use a steel ball from one of your other belly rings to set the threads.

Now sanitize, and insert into your piercing.  Sanitizing is important, don't skip this step.  You can sanitize with warm water and antibacterial soap.  Do not use alcohol around acrylic balls.  It will crack them.
